Cobourg Yacht Club
Founded in 1964, Cobourg Yacht Club has developed into a vibrant and active centre for cruising and racing all types of sailboats. Whether you are interested in keelboat racing, dinghy racing, cruising or just learning to sail, CYC is one of your best choices. In addition to the Junior and Adult dinghy and keelboat sailing schools, CYC also has a very active racing calendar where you can test yourself and your boat in a competitive, yet friendly, environment. Or, if just cruising around is your thing, the clubs' proximity to the Bay of Quinte and the Thousand Islands gives CYC access to the best cruising grounds on Lake Ontario.
Cobourg Marina has 187 slips with 20 or 30 amp power and water at most, as well as a separate check-in dock in the inner harbour, and on those occasions when the slips are all taken, the sheltered outer harbour is perfect for anchoring overnight.
Reciprocity: One night free. Please fly your club burgee. On
wall, no power. A launch ramp gives easy access for smaller boats, and gas, diesel and pump-out facilities are available. A laundromat, toilets and showers are located in the Marina building, and the Clubhouse is right next door. The clubhouse has everything a sailor could want. There's a cozy fireplace lounge with casual dining facilities, complemented by a staffed bar where you can relax and refill after a day on the water. You can also use the BBQ facilities on the picnic area, and watch the sailing action from the spectacular second floor club deck while sipping a cool drink - or a hot one if the weather suggests that! And there are toilet and shower facilities downstairs for after-sail cleanup, and a separate TV room and play room downstairs for the kids. For more information on the Cobourg Yacht Club, click here.
